A Message from the WDN Sage

Eight years ago when I embarked upon my journey to become a professional website designer, I found myself easily frustrated and confused. The tutorials I found left out information or were not kept up-to-date. The courses I tried were no better, with being a year behind the Internet community and teachers who were just as clueless as the class they were teaching.

WebDesignNewbie.com was brought to life to correct the problems those new to creating their own website face. WDN brings its students all the possible resources one might need during the creation of their website. What you will find within the student area are written and video/audio courses on website design and development, along with services available only to registered students such as proofreading and access to a tutor. WDN also offers a library, community forums, and a store.

Course Information & Index

Our courses have been developed with students who have either no knowledge of website design or some working knowledge in mind. We do not offer courses that go beyond a working knowledge of website design, however we do plan to offer these types of courses to Coaching Students within the next year.

The following is a list of available and future courses.

Basics Courses
This course takes you through each step needed to create a very basic web page/site using tables within HTML.
Cost: none

Advanced Web Design Courses
These courses take you through the steps to creating a website using CSS. Courses also include color, typography, graphics and more.
Cost: per course & monthly subscription fee

Web Development Courses
These courses take you through the various web development areas such as copywriting, search engine optimization and web accessibility.
Cost: per course & monthly subscription fee

Graphic Design Courses
These courses take you through the steps of creating professional web graphics using a variety of software such as Adobe Photoshop and Gimp.
Cost: per course & monthly subscription fee

Marketing & Website Promotion Courses
Promoting a website using Web 2.0 tactics.
Note: We do not show you how to market using traditional methods. There is plenty of information available for those interested in those methods.

Legal Information Courses
These courses will help you gain a better understanding of legal issues you need to know about as a website owner and publisher. Note: For educational purposes only. Always consult a lawyer on all legal matters.

Other Software & Scripts
These courses cover the installation and how to use a variety of software and scripts. These include WordPress as a CMS, phpNuke, Joomla! and more.

WDN Student Center

Within our Student Center can be found a range of services (per fee or at no cost) that are available only to registered students. These are:

• Proofreading & Editing: articles, websites, ebooks, and such
• Tutoring: one-on-one assistance
• Seminars: interviews & question/answer with a variety of professionals within the field
• Community Forums: open to all students and non-students. Students have own private forum. Gives students the ability to network with other students, and get help when needed
• StudentNEWS: a newsletter for registered students that provides them with updates on news and events, along with other tidbits of information that pertain only to creating and maintaining a website.

More student services will become available throughout the year.

WDN Library
Our library offers students the ability to find whatever they may need in order to create their own website—ebooks for current information, scripts & software that will help them with automated tasks, etc—some of which come with Master Resell Rights or Resell Rights. WDN Coaching Students also have access to Private Label Rights products.

Both WDN Students and non-students have access to our database of articles and resource links.

WDN Store
Our store offers a wide range of ebooks, scripts, software, graphics, and more for those looking for some extra assistance with various areas of web design as it pertains to their own website.

Registration & Fees

WDN Student registration is available at no cost, is open year round and is as simple as filling out a form. You’ll gain access within minutes (depending on how fast email gets to your Inbox) to all the courses, resources and services.

When you register you become a Basic WDN Student which allows you access to the Basic Web Design Courses, in addition to some private library access. In 3 to 6 months time we will be offering additional courses to Basic Students on a per course access fee basis. Course access fee will range between $30.00USD to $250.00+USD per course.

Basic Students will also be given the option to upgrade their student status to a WDNSage Student. This upgraded status will give the student unrestricted access to all current, future and updated courses, including library material. WDNSage Student status is not yet available.

To be considered for a Coaching Student position, students must be currently registered as a Basic WDN Student. Coaching positions are available at certain times per year with a limited number of seats available. Those lucky enough to get a seat, in lieu of their monthly subscription fee, will have access to:

• one-on-one coaching with the WDN Sage
• the Private Label Rights library section
• group sessions with other Coaching students
• unrestricted access to all written & video/audio courses
• and more!
