Launch Date Moved Ahead

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

Due to my son coming down with the chicken poxs, I have decided to post-pone the launch date of the article directory to the following week, July 9th. Between taking care of him and projects for clients, I’m having a hard time keeping up with my own projects - DesignNewbie being one of them.

But don’t worry! DesignNewbie will be coming back… bigger and better than ever!

Stage One: t-5 days and counting

Friday, July 27th, 2007

I’ve moved the launch date for the DesignNewbie article directory and author membership to August 1st instead of the day before, July 31st.

As you’ll noticed, if you’ve been following, that the new layout and design has gone through a change.. yet again. *laugh* As some of you that know me well, know that I’m pretty particular about the design work that I do and if I’m not happy with something I’ll keep changing it until I am 100% satisfied with the outcome. That being said, I am 100% satisfied with the outcome of this new layout and design that there won’t be anymore changes to that part of the website. Now I’ll be only focusing on getting the various stages online.

Stage One: 8 days until open to public

Monday, July 23rd, 2007

Actually, it might be a little longer than 8 days before the article directory is open to the public. I went and changed how I was setting things up. Was going to use WordPress but I found myself hacking it more than I really should need to. I went in search of an open source article directory script and came across ArticleMS. Which seems to be pretty good, very straightforward to use and set up. With this change I’ll be manually adding the articles that are already listed within the database in WordPress to the new script. This will take time.
